About Lisa Kadane

Lisa Kadane

I am a Calgary, Canada-based writer with broad interests. I used to travel and ski a lot with my husband, and write about our adventures, but then we had kids. I now attempt to parent my young children between writing assignments that range from taming tantrums to family travel to tequila cocktails. It’s fair to say the kids are driving me to … write about liquor.

My work has appeared in daily newspapers across Canada as well as magazines including Today’s Parent, Swerve, up! and Ski Canada. I am a family ski correspondent for SnowSeekers and I also write a regular cocktail column in the Calgary Herald newspaper and Avenue magazine.

Life can get a little crazy trying to juggle kids’ schedules, regular date nights with my husband, household chores and deadlines. Not to mention finding time to dream the big dreams (the next escape from the kids to travel or ski somewhere cool. Not Disneyland. Or Canada Olympic Park).

This blog is about all the stuff a busy, wanderlust-filled mom thinks about, but doesn’t necessarily share with the world. I’ll tackle parenting issues and mis-steps, cool places and pursuits near and far, and my T.G.I.F. Drink of the Week. Over the years I’ve found that the right balance of Drink – Play – Love keeps me sane. I hope you’ll agree.

E-mail me at lisa.kadane@shaw.ca. I’d love to hear from you!
